Bermuda Travel Guide

Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda

Horseshoe Bay is shaped just as the name suggests, and some readers believe it is unmatched in its natural beauty and facilities. With concession stands renting everything from snorkeling equipment to beach chairs—while selling sunscreen, snacks, and towels—visitors want for very little while visiting.

Reader Melody Parris said, "The beach I enjoy the most is Horseshoe Beach in Southampton Parish of Bermuda. Its pink pristine sand is absolutely beautiful. The waters are sparkling blue inviting you to dive in. Very often there are various beach sports going on—volleyball, sports team training, etc. There is also an annual sand sculpture competition which lends to creativity and a kite flying competition on Good Friday. You will find people swimming all year round. The beach is also periodically used for special events such as parties and shows."

When to Visit Bermuda

Bermuda's beach season, between April and October, is a popular time for playing in the water and sand. Through much of this time, June through September, public schools are on vacation, making it easier for families to travel. The golf and spa season, November through March, is a favorable time to come to Bermuda, as the weather is mild and pleasant. Because cruise ships only come to the island during beach season, golf and spa season is less crowded. read more
