El Beaterio Casa Museo, Dominican Republic TripAdvisor
El Beaterio is the first hotel-museum in the Dominican Republic. Not only is it super affordable, but the hotel has a central location in Santo Domingo, well-designed rooms, and a special history as well. The 500-year-old building was previously a nunnery, and since it’s well-preserved and many artifacts remain on the property, it’s also classified as a museum. While it’s not on the beach, it’s right in the historic downtown and has a terrace and roof deck.
