Wyndham Offers Bonus Points Plus Discounts Through September 10

Through September 10, members of the Wyndham Rewards program can earn 1,000 bonus points, plus receive a discount between 15 and 20 percent from best-available rates, for stays of two or more consecutive nights at participating hotels.

The 15 percent discount applies to qualifying stays at Dolce, Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Wyndham Garden, TRYP, Wingate, and Hawthorn Suites hotels. The 20 percent discount applies to Sunday through Thursday arrivals at Microtel Inn & Suites, Ramada, Baymont Inn & Suites, Days Inn, Super 8, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, and Knights Inn hotels.

Qualifying bookings must be made be made direct with Wyndham, either via phone, website, or the Wyndham Rewards app.

Deal or No Deal

Wyndham Rewards members normally earn 10 points per $1 spent, and a minimum of 1,000 points. So a hypothetical two-night stay costing $300 would net 3,000 points. In that scenario, a 1,000-point bonus is meager at best.

On the other hand, the discounts more than make up for that lackluster bonus, and are all the more appealing for providing up-front gratification, as opposed to points’ value, which is deferred until they’re redeemed.

With its industry-leading network of almost 8,000 hotels, and its one-price award nights at 15,000 points, Wyndham should be a contender for any stays where there’s a network hotel at the desired price point. Discounts and bonus points make the case even stronger.
