Top 10 Fall Travel Deals

As the long days of summer grow short, my attention turns to the inevitable rusty oranges, mustard yellows, and chocolate browns of changing leaves, the smell of warm apple cider donuts, the need for a cozy cardigan thanks to the brisk chill in the air, and the anticipation of the approaching holidays. Fall, however, is more than jack-o-lanterns and harvests; it’s also a great time to save big on travel. And to show you what I mean, I’ve gathered the 10 best deals, in no particular order, to welcome in the season.

Even if you don’t hit the jackpot while you’re in Las Vegas, you can still win big before you even arrive. American Airlines Vacations is offering rooms at the four-star Treasure Island starting at $56 per night (with taxes) when you stay three nights or longer. You must book by August 31 for travel before December 27.

Virgin Vacations’ England Fly-and-Drive package starting at $549 per person (without taxes and fees) makes it easy to cross the Pond this fall. The deal includes round-trip airfare from New York City (other departure cities are available at a higher cost), seven-day Hertz car rental, local tax, and unlimited mileage. There is no booking deadline, but November is the cheapest time to travel.

Save up to $800 with Sceptre Tours’ six-night Ireland vacation package starting at $659 per person (without taxes and fees). The deal includes round-trip airfare to Dublin from New York City or Boston (other departure cities are available at a higher cost), two nights’ four-star accommodations in Dublin, Belfast, and Sligo, manual car rental, and daily full Irish breakfast. There is no booking deadline, but the package is the most affordable in November.

If you’re looking for something a bit more tropical, Cheap Caribbean is offering Aruba vacation packages starting at $599. The offer includes round-trip airfare from Miami (other departure cities are available for a higher cost), five nights’ accommodations, Trip Mate weather insurance, and a $100 coupon if it rains during your stay. Save an extra $100 by using the promo code ARUBA100 when you book. You must book by August 16, and travel before December 11. Prices and travel dates vary by property.

Southwest Vacations is offering up to $200 off Orlando, Anaheim, and Las Vegas flight-and -hotel packages. Plus, you can also receive a free night’s stay. You must book by August 16, and travel before December 20.  A seven-day advance purchase is required.

Do you like to know the overall cost of a vacation up front? Funjet has just your ticket, with its all-inclusive two-night fall vacation deals starting at $379 per person (without taxes and fees). Travel to Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, or Las Vegas between September 1 and December 15, and save. Prices vary by type of accommodations and airfare.

Not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet? You don’t have to with Atlantis’ Fall Special. Stay three nights at Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and get the fourth night free. Plus, you can also get free companion airfare and kids stay and play for free. And if you book online, you’ll get an Atlantis Experience Pass, which includes an array of entertainment, dining, and activity discounts. Book by August 22 for travel between August 15 and December 22.

There’s nothing like extending a vacation just a little bit longer, especially when it doesn’t cost anything extra. And you can do just that at hotels around the world with Westin Hotels and Resorts’ complimentary nights promotion. Simply stay three or more nights at a participating hotel, and get the last night free. You must travel by December 31, with a hotel arrival day of Wednesday through Saturday.

Europe becomes a lot more affordable during the fall, and Go-today has a Switzerland Fly-and-Drive deal to prove it. The offer starts at $799 (without taxes and fees) in September and October—it was starting at $1,049 in August.—and comes with round-trip airfare to Zurich from New York City (other departure cities are available for a higher cost), a seven-day Hertz car rental, unlimited mileage, and local tax.

Marriott is making it a breeze to save up to 40 percent off hotel stays in the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and Mexico this fall with its Endless Summer Event. Book by August 31 with promo code LLF, and travel before December 20 to take advantage of this discount. Prices and travel dates vary by property.

Many of the above offers are subject to availability, and blackout dates may apply
