Segovia Airport Tips
If you are traveling a long distance to Segovia, you will want to fly. But, the nearest airport is in Madrid. Once you arrive at Barajas Airport in Madrid, you should decide on your transportation options. You could rent a car to drive yourself to Segovia. Or, you could take a taxi, ride a train, or hop on a bus.
Getting to Segovia – Taxis, Trains & Buses from Madrid
Arguably the most convenient way to get to Segovia is by train. Simply go to the Chamartin Railway Station in Madrid and check the train schedule. You can even take the AVE high-speed train to Segovia, giving you a wonderful view of Spain during your ride.
If you decide to take a bus, locate La Sepulvedana. These buses run frequently between Madrid and Segovia every 30 to 60 minutes. Just be aware how the bus system works. Your ticket is valid only on the bus shown on your ticket. Then, when you leave Segovia to return to Madrid, go to the ticket counter to find your assigned bus.
Finally, if you decide to take a taxi to Segovia, be careful with payment. Spanish taxi drivers have a reputation for short-changing foreigners who are not familiar with the European currency system. Be aware of the currency so that you pay the right amount.
