Hi all, I have just returned from a trip to Hong Kong for three days then boarded the Costa Classica for a cruise to Shanghai via Japan. Loved Hong Kong and Shanghai shopping was sooo good. We were very lucky to catch so many cherry blossoms in Japan it was picture post card perfect.
As for the cruise ship, it was awful. Food in restaurant was good but decor, buffet, staff were rude but luckily managed to have a great time with the 130 or so english speaking guests. Costa made us feel the unwanted cousins on a very smelly ship.
The itinerary is what sold us the cruise, but did not like the half days in port, that is way too short for the ports of call. Weather was ok, nothing we could do about that but certainly buyer beware if ever booking on Costa Classica again. I would not recommend unless its nearly free.
