If you're after character and country charm, a wide range of bed and breakfasts and guesthouses can be found in Ithaca. Otherwise, accommodation is fairly basic, with several chain motels located on the town's main highways alongside big-box stores. One unique option in town is the upmarket Statler Hotel, located on Cornell University's campus and staffed by students at Cornell's acclaimed School of Hotel Administration.

Check both the Ithaca College and Cornell calendars of events before planning your trip, because accommodation around town often sells out years in advance for big weekends such as graduations and homecomings.

  • Statler Hotel at Cornell UniversityAddress: 130 Statler Drive

Word of Mouth: "Knowing that this hotel was connected with the world-leading hospitality management program at Cornell, I raised my expectations before arrival. The hotel did not disappoint. The staff provided excellent service and the room and facilities were also excellent. I had a wonderful view of the campus and rolling hills from my room." -- Love2ExplrLa Tourelle Resort & Spa

    1150 Danby Road

Word of Mouth: "I have stayed in many resorts near and far (domestic and abroad) and La Tourelle is a gem right in our own backyard! The tranquility at the resort, quality of food and service was top notch. The bed! The dual shower head! The spa! The food! AMAZING!!!!!" -- amani1Hampton Inn IthacaAddress: 337 Elmira Road

Word of Mouth: "Always a pleasure to stay here. We come to Ithaca several times a year and and stay here every visit. The desk staff are always helpful. Coffee/tea and cookies available in the evenings, the breakfast is always good and the lady who works the breakfast is a sweetheart." -- Tracey CGrayhaven Motel
    Address:
    657 Elmira Road

Word of Mouth: "Yes, it's older and somewhat rustic, but I'm glad we found this place. Our room was large and convenient, and the location is great -- close to Buttermilk Falls State Park and Ithaca, both of which we visited from here. It bills itself as dog-friendly, which it certainly is, with a play area with signs saying 'pets only allowed on play equipment.' But we didn't have a pet with us. We were drawn by two things: the very reasonable room rates and that fact that each room in our building has a bird feeder right outside the window. We spent an hour or so looking for birds around the grounds in the morning and found many." -- Wally ERelated:Ithaca Restaurants

  • Bed and Breakfasts

  • William Henry Miller InnAddress: 303 North Aurora Street

Word of Mouth: "This beautiful house is perfectly located for an inn, just two blocks from a slew of good restaurants covering the full spectrum of culinary options and price ranges. The Inn's staff is spectacular, attentive but not nosy. The breakfast choices differ each day with both a sweet and a savory choice. Fresh fruit abounds. Each evening the dinning room is stocked with several wonderful homemade dessert choices. The building itself is large and beautiful, the entire first floor, aside from the kitchen, is public space available 24 hours a day. There is a wide front porch with tables available for guest use as well." -- ChelvisGeo on TripAdvisorRogues' Harbor Inn
