Take the Subway in Athens 

The Subway system in Athens is clean, fast, and efficient. There are sometimes strikes by the staff that runs the subway thanks to the economic problems the country is facing, but you will usually get proper warnings about such shutdowns. It is actually one of the oldest subways in the world but has been greatly expanded ever since its humble beginnings as a single-line metro line. Reach the Acropolis Via Train 

If you are planning on taking a day trip to the Acropolis, you should plan on taking the train as it is the most efficient way to get there. City Bus Systems
