Galena Hotels and B&B’s

Accommodations in Galena suit just about any taste: bed and breakfasts housed in fabulously refurbished mansions; small, quaint hotels and motels; contemporary vacation homes available to rent for a weekend or longer; and top-notch resorts ready to cater to your every whim. If you plan to spend most of your time strolling downtown, look for a property on or near Main Street — you’ll find a good selection of boutique hotels and some inexpensive chain options there.

But the bulk of the lodging options are spread out among the sprawling hills, so you’ll need a car to get you from where you’re staying to the places you’d like to see. Advance reservations are a good idea any time of year, but especially during summer and early fall, as well as Thanksgiving, Christmas and the annual Galena Triathlon and Duathlon each May. Expect higher rates and plan way ahead for these times — the best places book up early.
