Amazon is helping us celebrate World Book Day (Thursday, April 23) in quarantine with nine free Kindle downloads. Take a look at the free books you can download … we’re especially excited because many of the downloads are travel related.
Your Perfect Year, Charlotte Lucas
This romantic comedy’s plot involves a lost planner and second chances. It was an instant bestseller when it came out in Germany last year.
The First Mrs. Rothschild, Sara Aharoni
This biographical fiction saga takes place in a German-Jewish ghetto and is about a couple who rise to financial power.
The Price of Paradise, Susana Lopez Rubio
This historical fiction novel is set in 1950s Cuba and revolves around a forbidden love affair.
Along the Tapajos, Fernando Vilela
Follow a pair of siblings as they take on a mission along the Tapajos River in Brazil. This is one of the first children’s books published by the Amazon Crossing Kids program.
Out of the Silence: After the Crash, Eduardo Strauch
You won’t want to put this well-told memoir down; it’s about the story of the 1972 plane crash in the Andes Mountains that was carrying the Uruguayan rugby team, as told by one of the survivors.
Check out the other four free books on Amazon’s World Book Day page. Note that the downloads are only free until the end of the day on Thursday, April 23.
Amazon is also offering two free (normally $9.99 per month) months of Kindle Unlimited, which hosts over a million e-books, magazines, and audiobooks. To use Kindle Unlimited, you don’t need an e-reader, just the Kindle app. To take advantage of the two free months, use this link to sign up before the offer expires at 11:59 p.m. PST on April 30. Note that you’ll need to cancel your free trial before the two months are over if you don’t want to be automatically charged $9.99 starting in the third month.
