Florida Flights Earn Double Southwest Points

Double frequent flyer credits for Florida flights during the year’s coldest months? Improbable. You’d expect those flights to be full of shivering sun-seekers from colder parts of the country, with no extra incentive required.

But Southwest is indeed offering members of its Rapid Rewards program double credits for flights to or from Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers/Naples, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa Bay, and West Palm Beach between January 4 and March 9, 2010.

To earn the bonus credits, registration is required, and must be completed by January 31, 2010. So even if you don’t plan to travel until February or early March, be sure to take a moment to register before the deadline.

Potentially making a good deal even better, Southwest has an airfare sale in place for many flights booked by January 4, 2010, and completed by early March.
