Sydney Travel Guide

Why Visit Sydney

Sydney makes a great starting point to explore the rest of Australia, and the popular city is worth spending a few days in. From famous beaches to speakeasies, Sydney has everything most major cities do, and more with its coastline. Throughout the year you'll find festivals worth planning a trip around like Vivid Sydney, night noodle markets, and Sculptures by the Sea.

When to Visit Sydney

You'll find plenty to do in Sydney year-round, but the city's summer (December to February) sees the best weather for beaches and outdoor activities. In the winter, spring, and autumn you'll find lots of festivals and events to keep you busy. Because of the great weather, you'll find more crowds in the summer, but this is also when many locals take their time off and vacation.

Weather in Sydney

You'll find mild temperatures throughout the year in Sydney with a range of 65 and 78 degrees in the summer. During winter, temperatures can drop to the low 50s, but tend to stay in the 60s. In winter, water temperature sits around 66 degrees, so you can still swim with a wetsuit. Winter sees the least amount of rain, but throughout the year you should pay attention to the UV index.
