Kauai Travel Guide

Why Visit Kauai

With its golden beaches, rugged hiking trails, lush green mountains, and cascading waterfalls, Kauai is a destination for nature lovers. You'll find some of Hawaii's most dramatic scenery here in the colorful gorges of Waimea Canyon, the fluted hills of the Napali Coast, and the dense jungle of the Kalalau Valley.

When to Visit Kauai

Winter and summer tend to be the busiest and most expensive times to visit Kauai, with prices going up around the major holidays such as Christmas and New Year's. You can often find slightly lower rates for Kauai travel in spring and fall, except for Thanksgiving and peak spring break weeks.

Kauai Weather

There's no bad time for Kauai travel; temperatures are pleasant year-round, with highs in the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit. The winter months tend to see a little more rain, though it often falls overnight. The driest months are May through September, and the sunniest part of the island year-round is the southern coast.
