Experience the Corniche Path
The Corniche Path is a famous walkway that is approximately eight kilometers in length. The path runs the length of the Abu Dhabi’s waterfront and visitors can stop at restaurants and beaches along the way. Corniche Beach is clean and romantic, with lifeguards on duty so you will be able to take a dip in the warm waters.
The Heritage Village
The Heritage Villages offers a peek into the traditional trades of the United Arab Emirates. You can get an up close and personal view of jewelry makers, tool hand carvers, carpenters, and bronze tradesmen. Witness a mock irrigation system where water is dredged from a traditional well in order to supply the local farmland.
Emirates Palace Hotel
Next to the Presidential Palace is the elite Emirates Palace Hotel. It is the most prestigious hotel in Abu Dhabi. The immense building is over a kilometer long. The interior is decorated with gold and crystal chandeliers, a grand stairwell, and epic murals. The outside consists of a luxurious water garden with palm trees and excellent greenery.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Built in the style of the Taj Mahal, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the eighth largest mosque in the world, and the largest one in the United Arab Emirates. It can hold over 41,000 people, and is one of the few mosques that are open to non-Muslim visitors. There are several free tours during the week. The only exception is Friday, which is aside for worshipers. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is astonishing. It houses 82 domes and gold chandeliers.
Lulu Island
Visitors to Abu Dhabi can explore Lulu Island. It is a beach island with crystal blue waters. It is only accessible by boat, and there is one restaurant, so some planning is required, but worth it to relax beneath an umbrella on the beach.
Al Ain Zoo
You can visit the Al Ain Zoo when you travel to Abu Dhabi. There is a wide variety of animals with a large variety of cat species. You can take the train through the park to see all of the animals or you can walk.
The Sand Dunes of LIWA
Near the Rub’ al Khali lies the massive sand dunes of LIWA. The farms that are located along the dunes produce dates, and every year they hold a festival. In January, the 9 day LIWA Moreeb Dune Festival, hosts a variety of competitions, including motocross racing, horse racing, camel racing, and other enjoyable activities.
