Today marks the launch of Voyij.com, a site developed by former SideStep.com employees that searches sources around the Web to provide users with listings of airfare, hotel, and vacation package sales. Search results include sales, last-minute specials, excess inventory deals, and other promotional offers.
The most basic search allows you to browse the listings based on your departure airport. However, it’s also possible to do a more focused search using travel dates, destination location, price, or by a variety of vacation types, such as beach, golf, gambling, outdoors, or romance. Right now, the site covers North America and the Caribbean, but there are plans to expand the reach sometime this summer.
Brent Stewart, the CEO of Voyij, Inc., said the site was inspired by travel booking dissatisfaction: “We developed the technology behind Voyij because we were frustrated by not having a way to easily search for and find just the best travel deals, sales and bargains on the web.”
Will Voyij deliver on its potential? Right off the bat, it should be helpful to domestic travelers looking for a cheap getaway. For instance, while browsing, I found a $9 hotel room at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. It shows available dates right up front, which I appreciated.
Voyij joins a growing list of websites vying in different ways to help travelers find deals, from search sites like the recently launched TripAdvisor Flights and Kayak, to online travel agencies like Expedia and Travelocity, to comparison sites like our partner BookingBuddy, and editorial deal listings like our sister site Airfarewatchdog.
