Malta: Gozo Church

Gozo, Malta

Though it is located smack dab in the middle of the Mediterranean, Gozo rarely registers on most Americans' travel radar. Gozo is the second largest of the three islands that form the Republic of Malta, and is composed of several towns, nearly 27 miles of coastline, and a slew of beaches. Also known as the fabled Island of Calypso, named after the mythical nymph who seduced Odysseus and kept him captive here for seven years, Gozo is a prime spot to get swept away.
