Waterton Lakes National Park is located in Canada near to Glacier National Park. It’s a popular destination with many attractions and things to do.
Horse lovers will enjoy the park. Mountain Meadow Trail Rides is located outside the park, near Mountain View. This family-run farm has been in the Nelson family for over 100 years, and they offer two to four-day, all-inclusive trail rides.
A lot of visitors also forget to stop at the Buffalo Paddock in the park. The Buffalo Paddock is a fenced-off area of prairie grassland that is home to the park’s buffalo herd. It is situated on the road leading from Pincher Creek to Waterton Lakes. The road loops around, so drivers can easily pass through the area and return back to the rest of the park.
A lovely, scenic drive to Red Rock Canyon is a must. The drive isn’t far and provides beautiful views of
hanging valleys, alpine meadows, jagged mountain peaks, and some of the local wildlife. They canyon itself is layered in colors of red and green colored minerals, which creates an amazing effect. The nearby streams also provide for an amazing view. Nearby, in the village of Waterton, you can also stop at Cameron Falls. These picturesque waterfalls make for a wonderful photo opportunity.
