  • Vigan Shopping

  • Vigan is a great place to go shopping, as it has many unique and unusual items to commemorate your visit to the Philippines.

  • Buying Religious Items and Artifacts

  • There are several stores in Vigan that sell religious artifacts like the images of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or statues of saints, the First Family (Sagrado de Familia), crucifixes, etc. When you are buying these religious artifacts, be certain to bargain with the vendor and also be sure to get the receipts for your purchases. Also, have the owner of the store pack them carefully because these are fragile and could easily be broken. It is not recommended for visitors to buy the bigger religious statues as shipping is very expensive, and the possibility for breakage is high. If do you find a great deal, it is worth buying the artifacts as long as you request the store owner to pack them carefully with bubble wrap. You can then pay the fee for additional luggage as this will be less expensive than shipping.
