Venice Nightlife – Clubs, Bars & Nightlife Tips

Venice Nightlife

Venice, Italy is one of the most romantic cities in the world. The nightlife in Venice has a special old-world charm that is the most fun to share with your romantic partner.

Strolling

One of the most enjoyable things to do in Venice at night is simply to stroll around the town. Enjoy the people watching as you take in the fresh night air. All of the buildings around the main squares are illuminated, which makes a wonderful sight to see them at night. This is especially pleasant on a balmy summer evening.

f you need a rest, stop in at one of the many bars and cafes that are around the public squares for a coffee or a nice drink before continuing on your way.

Gondola Ride

Taking a Gondola (boat) ride down the Venice canals is very enjoyable in the evenings. They are lit up with beautiful, tiny lights. If you are lucky, you will have a Gondolier (boat driver) that not only expertly steers the boat, but also serenades you and your loved one at the same time with a beautiful Italian song. If he sings well, tip him well and that makes everyone very happy.

Bars

Venice is better known for its small bars and clubs than for big dance clubs. The idea of a good night out is to relax with friends, have something great to eat, and share drinks, mixed with good conversation.

Bacaro Jazz Bar

Bacaro Jazz is well-known restaurant and cocktail bar situated in San Marco square near the Rialto Bridge. It has good food and a very relaxed atmosphere.

The first thing that will attract your attention is the decoration of the ceiling inside the premises. There are hundreds of women’s bras hanging down of different sizes, colors, and styles. This is very unusual decoration and very innovative.

Besides the good food and great cocktails, Bacaro Jazz is known for its live music, performed by expert jazz musicians.

Fiddler’s Elbow

The Fiddler’s Elbow opened in 1992. It was the first Irish pub to open in Venice. It has a nice wooden bar with seating inside and also offers a pleasant beer garden outside. Irish and international beers are on tap.

Jazz Club: 900

This intimate bar offers the perfect combination of jazz music, drinks, and pizza. Making reservations is recommended to get a good table.

Teatro La Fenice

A must-see is going out to the theater in Venice to enjoy an opera performance or a concert. This theater first opened in the late 1800’s and has been rebuilt many times because of being destroyed by fire. The latest cause of a fire was arson by workers at the theater during 1996. They were caught and thrown into prison. Because of this history, firemen are now on duty at the theater for every performance. The newest renovations are spectacular.

Venice Casino

For those with money to burn, a night out may include gambling at the Venice casino. Like all casinos, the chances of winning are slim, so only bet money that you can afford to lose.
