International travel booking engine Vayama announced its official launch today. The site’s total focus on international travel makes it unique among online booking agencies.
Just because the site has made its official debut doesn’t mean it hasn’t been around for a while. Last fall, while it was still in beta, Contributing Editor Ed Perkins put Vayama to the test. Just last month, Airfare Editor Jessica Labrencis included it in her roundup of strategies for finding cheaper airfare in 2008.
International flights come with their own set of booking challenges, so I’m interested to see how a site dedicated to it works to make the process easier and more intuitive. But as with any booking site, it probably won’t be able to offer the cheapest airfare all the time, so comparing prices will remain an important part of trip planning.
