This holiday season, US Airways employees may be more invested than usual in making sure your flight leaves on time and your baggage doesn’t get lost. The Charlotte Observer reported today that the airline is hoping to improve its record by offering employees up to $100 in bonuses if “at least 60 percent of all flights depart at the scheduled time or earlier and if US Airways mishandles no more than seven bags per 1,000 bags” between November 1 and December 31.
A better on-time record and fewer lost bags sounds like just the thing US Airways passengers need, since the airline will probably finish the year as one of the nation’s worst for delays and customer complaints, even after this new push.
The biggest wild card this holiday travel season will be, as usual, the weather. But it’s good to see the airline offering morale-boosting incentives and maybe, just maybe, getting you to your destination on time.
