Would You Board a Cruise Without Knowing the Destination?

Can’t decide where you want to go for your next vacation? What if you let someone else pick for you? Uniworld River Cruises is offering two new Mystery Cruises for 2022. On these 10-day cruises, the itinerary is kept under wraps from the passengers who will book the airfare-inclusive trip without knowing where in the world they will be going.

“The Mystery Cruise was a concept that our team dreamt up during the pandemic while grounded at home,” Ellen Bettridge, President & CEO of Uniworld, said. “We wanted to surprise our guests with a thrilling adventure that was truly one-of-a-kind and completely new for us— eliminating any decision-making stress by keeping the entire journey a mystery.

About a month before departure, Mystery Cruise guests will be sent their flight information, and that’s how they will find out the embarkation destination of the cruise. However, that’s all they will know for now—they still won’t know where else the cruise will be stopping. Instead, the destinations for the next day will be revealed the night before.
“Each evening in the lounge, we got creative making the announcements, dressing up in themed costumes like a knight and queen to signify our visit to the medieval Castle Ehrenberg in Cochem or my grape costume to convey a sparkling wine tasting in Mainz,” said Bettridge.

Guests booked on the Mystery Cruise will receive a detailed packing list to help them decide what to bring when they don’t know where they’re going.
Prices for the Mystery Cruise start at $7,299, and there are departures available to book in September and October.
