    Celebrity

is to Celebrity Expeditions as large-ship luxury is to small-ship adventure. Celebrity's lesser known Expeditions fleet currently consists of one ship,

    Celebrity Xpedition

, which sails in the Galapagos. Next year, Celebrity has announced, two new ships will join the fleet.

The ships aren't new-builds but hand-me-downs from Pullmantur, a Spanish cruise company that Royal Caribbean (Celebrity's parent company) recently acquired. The 710-guest

    Celebrity Quest

    —formerly the

    Blue Moon

—will debut in October 2007 as an Expeditions ship. The ship will sail 12- to 14-night Caribbean cruises, and stop at new ports for Celebrity, such as St. Barts, Guadeloupe, Dominica, and Turks and Caicos. Following its Caribbean season, the

    Quest

will sail 14-night Panama Canal cruises.

    The

    Celebrity Journey

makes its debut in May. It will sail seven-night Bermuda cruises through October and then head off on 12- to 18-night voyages to remote areas of South America.

The Expeditions brand is targeted to cruisers who want a more intimate and exclusive experience than what you'll find on the main Celebrity ships. The

    Journey

    and

    Quest

will offer two specialty restaurants, butler service and concierge amenities in every stateroom, and expanded spa services.
