Tulum is one of Mexico's many fascinating tourism spots, situated near an ancient walled Mayan city. When packing for a trip to Tulum, make sure to bring the proper equipment outlined below.
It's recommended for you not to pack too much for your Tulum trip, as you won't need very much. Definitely do not bring one of those big wheeled suitcases, as they will be extremely difficult to drag to your cabana on the rocky and sandy roads. Instead, get a knapsack or backpack of some kind. You'll also want to bring a lock of some kind, as leaving things unattended is a bad idea and the lockers at the cabanas are fairly rusty. Some of the cabanas don't have electricity either, so a rechargeable flashlight or lantern is helpful.
If you're going in the winter, maybe bring a long sleeved shirt, but other than that, you don't even need a bathing suit. Lots of naked people will be running around, and you can borrow towels at the front desk for 10 pesos. One thing that is important is comfortable footwear, as the ground can be painful to walk on barefoot and there are plenty of hiking paths around the area.

Sunscreen is essential, as is bug spray during certain times of the year. Other than that, basic toiletries such as toothpaste and floss are all that's needed. You may want to bring some sort of hangover remedy, as you'll certainly be doing lots of drinking on the beach.
