TSA Dog Allegedly Bites Woman

It’s not just human TSA officers that are getting under the public’s skin anymore—A woman is alleging that a TSA bomb-sniffing dog bit her on the stomach when she was waiting at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport earlier this month.

The victim, Susan Dubitsky, claims that she was waiting in the airport’s baggage claim area for her sister to arrive, when a TSA officer and dog walked past. Dubitsky told Atlanta’s Channel 2 Action News, “When the dog swished by me, he reached over grabbed my skin. It hurt, it hurt. More than just the bite, I felt the pull of the skin as the handler was pulling it back his teeth were still there.” (Click on this link to see the disturbing pictures of the alleged bite.)

Dubitsky was examined by paramedics in the terminal, who gave her a band-aid.

A TSA spokesperson told NBC news that they are, “working with Atlanta P.D. to investigate the alleged incident with the canine.”

In the meantime, Dubitsky does not want to return to the airport anytime soon. She told Channel 2, “I don’t ever want to see that dog again, because he has an issue with me. I don’t think the dog is quarantined, he could very well be there.”

The TSA’s National Canine Program (NCP), has come under scrutiny lately, after the Government Accountability Office (GAO) cited it earlier this year for “inadequate compliance with canine training requirements and using canine units to screen cargo rather than passengers as the program was intended,” reports
