You can also take a tour bus that goes here as well as to other places. The tour bus is part of a greater tour that you can take as part of your plan to see the rest of the island. The guided tour includes English narration so you’ll know what you’re seeing. Most tours take a few hours and will let you off by the mountains by many sites including the monasteries and villages.
The easiest way to get to and around the Troodos mountains is via car. Many sites in the Troodos are far apart. Walking is not a realistic option. Hiring a car is a better way to get where you want. When hiring a car, keep in mind that many of the roads here are twisted and narrow without any guard rails. You need to keep your eye on the road at all times. Parking is plentiful in many places including all the religious sites. Gas stations are few and far between in the mountains so make sure you have enough gas before you leave.
