Trolley (Some are FREE)
Chicago is the third biggest city in the United States. It is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Illinois and is the home to friendly people and some of the best Midwestern culture has to offer. Millions of people visit the city for the holidays each year. One popular way to get around is the trolleys in town, especially during the holidays. The following are some tips on these trolleys.
The Lincoln Park Trolley
During the holidays. there is a free trolley that runs from Lincoln Park to the Navy Pier. The trolley leaves from the Nature Museum in Lincoln Park every half hour and from the Navy Pier every hour. It runs from 10 am -6 pm on every day except Sunday when it runs from 12 pm -6 pm. You should also know that the trolley doesn’t run on Christmas or New Year’s Day.
Make Sure They are Free
The city is nice enough to provide a free trolley system available to tourists that want to get around to all of the major sites in the city of Chicago. There are other companies that offer trolley rides that are not free. Make sure that you are not getting on one of these before you depart. They look similar sometimes and will park near the same stops that the free rides use.
Besides the holidays, the most popular time for visitors to come to Chicago is during the summer. The free trolleys also run during this time of year. The service begins on Memorial Day and then ends on Labor Day. After that, it starts up again after Thanksgiving.
