Trapani Things To Do – Attractions & Must See

Trapani Things to Do

Trapani is a gorgeous, peaceful town on the western coast of Sicily. There are lovely places to visit, which are nearby, such as Erise on the mountaintop, the Mazia Islands, and the Egadi Islands.

Ai Lumi Hotel

If you stay at the Ai Lumi Hotel you will be impressed with its old-world charm and can enjoy an afternoon drink while listening to a classical concerto in the hotel lobby.

Walking

Trapani is the place to go just to enjoy the beauty and simply relax without having to do anything in particular. Just take a pleasant stroll down the seaside around twilight to view the beautiful sunset and you will feel very calm and satisfied. There are simple beaches to walk down if you want to wade in the water. The weather is warm and pleasant almost any time during the year.

Fishing and Sailing on the Mediterranean Sea

Going out for a fishing trip or a sailing adventure in the Mediterranean Sea is highly recommended. The water is usually fairly calm and the fishing is excellent.

Erice

From Trapani take the funicular (cable railway train car) up the mountainside to visit Erise. The views from Erise are spectacular. If you have the adventure spirit, join the locals who like to paraglide from the cliffs.

Egadi Islands

There is a hydrofoil that goes from Trapani to the town of Favignana on the Egadi Islands. The enjoyable ride across the sea takes about one hour. The Mediterranean Sea off the coast of these islands is a beautiful crystal clear, blue-green color. Diving is wonderful in this area because the water is so clear. The beaches are very nice. Enjoy a fine meal in the Old Town area, which has nice small restaurants. Relax and experience the simple, rural Sicilian lifestyle.

Mozia Island

Mozia Island is a nice day trip from Trapani. It has large windmills on the seaside that were once used to process and refine sea salt. Buy some sea salt as a terrific souvenir.
