Top Five Miles and Points Deals for November 2008

There are many, many promotions. But there are only a few really, really good ones.

In this monthly roundup, we highlight the five most lucrative offers currently available to members of airline and hotel loyalty programs.

(Promotions are listed in alphabetical order.)

1. Double American miles for new Brazil flights

AAdvantage members will earn double miles on American’s new flights between Miami and Salvador de Bahia, Recife, and Belo Horizonte through February 15, 2009.

Registration is required.

2. Best Western doubles the points

Best Western Gold Crown Club members will earn double points or miles for stays booked online between November 22 and December 31.

Registration is required prior to the first qualifying stay. Only Gold Crown Club members residing in the Americas, China or Asia are eligible for the offer.

3. Holiday shopping bonuses

We mentioned United’s bonus-mile offer for purchases at online retailers participating in the Mileage Plus Mall in last month’s [% 2754931 | | bonus roundup %], predicting that we’d see more of the same as the holiday shopping season got going in earnest. Following are four more miles-for-shopping offers, all in effect through December 31:

  • American

    AAdvantage members will earn double miles for purchases at 21 participating AAdvantage eShopping mall merchants, including Banana Republic, Barnes & Noble.com, Bose, Cabela’s, Circuit City, Dell Home, drugstore.com, eToys, Gap.com, landsend.com, Macys.com, Overstock.com, Pottery Barn, RedEnvelope, Saks.com, Sears, Staples.com, Home Depot, TigerDirect, Victoria’s Secret, and Williams-Sonoma.

    In addition to the bonus miles, AAdvantage members who spend at least $500 at the 21 participating merchants, and charge their purchases to a MasterCard, will receive a $25 MasterCard gift card.

  • Continental

    Members of Continental’s OnePass program who charge a purchase at the ShopOnePass mall will earn a one-time bonus of 500 miles when paying with a Continental Airlines Chase credit card.

  • InterContinental

    Members of InterContinental’s Priority Club Rewards program can earn double points for purchases at 22 Priority Club Shopping mall retailers. Participating online merchants: the Apple Store, Barnes & Noble.com, Circuit City, CompUSA, Current Catalog, Dell Home, Dell Small Business, Hickory Farms, HP Home Store, JCPenney, Kmart, Lands’ End, Macy’s, Nordstrom, OmahaSteaks.com, Overstock, REI, RitzCamera.com, Ross-Simons, Sears, Home Depot, TigerDirect, Victoria’s Secret, VistaPrint, and Walmart.com.

  • Marriott

    Marriott Rewards members will earn double points when shopping at 22 participating Marriott Rewards Mall merchants, including the Apple Store, Barnes & Noble, Circuit City, Current Catalog, Dell Home, Dell Small Business, Hickory Farms, HP Home Store, JCPenney, Kmart, Lands’ End, Macy’s, Nordstrom, OmahaSteaks.com, Overstock, REI, Ross-Simons, Sears, Home Depot, Victoria’s Secret, VistaPrint, and Walmart.com.

5. Double US Air miles for Europe flights
