There are many, many promotions. But there are only a few really, really good ones.

In this monthly roundup, we highlight the five most lucrative offers currently available to members of airline and hotel loyalty programs.

(Promotions are listed in alphabetical order.)

1. Marriott Brings Back the MegaBonus

Between September 15 and January 15, Marriott Rewards members will earn 5,000 bonus points for every third stay charged to a Visa card, up to a maximum 25,000 points. (Some Marriott Rewards members will receive different promotional offers.)

Registration is required and must be completed by October 31.

2. Earn Double Northwest Miles for Shopping

Through September 30, Northwest WorldPerks members can earn double miles at all but a few WorldPerks Mall merchants. Registration is required.

Bonus miles are on offer at several other airline and hotel mileage malls through the first week in September. So if Northwest isn’t your preferred program, check elsewhere.

3. More Points for Starwood Stays

Through September 30, Preferred Guest members will earn 1,000 bonus points for Sunday-through-Thursday stays at participating Starwood hotels in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. (Stays at Four Points by Sheraton earn a 500-point bonus.)

Registration is required.

4. United Offers Miles for Dining

Through September 30, Mileage Plus members will earn 1,000 bonus miles for every $200 spent at participating Mileage Plus Dining restaurants, up to a maximum of 5,000 bonus miles during the promotion period.

Registration is required.

5. US Airways’ Grand Slam Promo

Dividend Miles members can earn up to 40,000 miles by doing business with multiple Dividend Miles partner companies by September 30.

To earn the bonus, members must register.
