Tips on United States of America Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

United States of America Warnings and Dangers

The United States has great scenery and people and, being a large country, has a choice of diverse cities and landscapes to visit. However, there are some warnings and dangers visitors should be aware of to avoid potential problems.

Security is Tight

You might notice that a large number of places in the United States have some kind of screening or security. Ever since 9/11, many high-profile places have added-extra security, especially government buildings, large public events, and transportation centers. These places may require you to go through extra screening before you can enter the facility. In some cases, you could be required to open your bag or backpack for them to check for weapons. Carrying concealed weapons in many areas can get you into a lot of trouble, especially if you don’t have a permit.

Thieves, Pickpockets and Homeless People

In some large cities, street crimes, such as purse snatching and pickpocketing, are more prevalent. Keep your bags and billfolds close to you and be aware of your surroundings. Homeless people are not uncommon, especially in downtown areas, and some may aggressively beg for money. Others may offer to sell you illegal drugs and even possessing those can get you arrested.

Be Prepared While Driving

If you plan to drive across country, be prepared as there are often long distances between towns in some parts of the country where you might not see anyone for hours. Be sure to stock up between towns. It’s not uncommon to see wild animals crossing the road in less urban areas, so keep your eyes open. It’s also a good idea to look out for drowsy or intoxicated drivers.
