Torino attracts travelers from all over the world, and while it’s a great place to visit, there are some warnings and dangers to be aware of on your trip.
Don’t Drive If You Can Avoid It
The downtown area of Torino is congested with traffic, and driving within the city limits can be a harrowing experience. Italian drivers have a reputation for being aggressive as well, so use caution when driving, or avoid it altogether if possible.
Petty Crime in Some Areas
Use extra caution around Porta Nuova and Porta Palazzo, especially after dark, because thieves and con artists are known to prey on tourists in this areas. Porta Nuova is notorious for petty crime. Pickpockts on buses in Torino are also very common, and purse snatchers are known to grab anything eft out in the open.
Public Fights
Fights are known to break out after sporting events in the Juventis area, so be careful if you go to a sporting event there. Crowds can get out of control, and you can get caught in the middle of a fight if you are not careful.
