Tips on Spain Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Spain Warnings and Dangers

Spain is a wonderful place to visit to get a taste of different cultures. However, there are a few warnings and dangers you should look out for.

Pickpocket Crime

Pickpocket crimes can occur anywhere in Spain, although it is noted that Sevilla has a high rate of pickpocketing attempts. Always keep valuables hidden or kept in your hotel when walking the streets of Sevilla at night. Carry a low amount of money and avoid flashing your cash when making a purchase, as pickpocketers often target tourists and those they believe have large amounts of money on them. Keep your wallet in an upper pocket or hidden somewhere in your clothing rather than traditional side and back pockets, as these are the easiest locations for pickpocketers to take your money without having you notice.

Scams and People to Avoid

It is imperative to remain alert and aware at all times, especially when shopping at local stores or purchasing merchandise right off of the streets of Spain. Be aware of the potential risks of pickpocketing or mugging.
