Tips on Nepal Warnings and Dangers – Stay Safe!

Nepal Warnings and Dangers

The fabulous mountain kingdom of Nepal is one of the most exotic and exclusive travel destinations in the world. Mount Everest, the highest mountain of them all, is just one of the many things to see here, and the capital city of Katmandu has a well-earned reputation as an international cultural destination. However, this country is very isolated. Customs prevail there that might seem unusual outside, and the particular political makeup of the nation may present veiled challenges.

Water and Alcohol

The water in Nepal is not safe to drink right out of the tap. Only drink bottled water: do not swallow the water when you bathe or use the tap water to brush your teeth, and avoid ice cubes with your drink. It’s not uncommon to encounter problems like fake or watered-down beer: off-brand and home-made alcohols should be avoided.

Political Tensions in Nepal

Because of fractious political conditions in the country, especially in the capital, demonstrations and other mass political demonstrations may arise. It’s generally better to remain separate from their internal politics as a tourist and to not appear to take sides. Avoid overt political displays.

Party Cautiously

One popular nightlife scam in Nepal preys on tourists. Locals may offer to go drinking with a traveler and guide them to bars and nightclubs where they have an arrangement with the staff: The scammer runs up a large bar tab and the traveler is required to pay it. This also happens at strip clubs and in massage parlors: The police will rarely help visitors who find themselves in this situation, so its best to avoid offers like this as well as adult spots that may scam you..
