Most people around Genting are friendly, but you should still remain cautious. When you’re traveling in this area, stay alert to your surroundings. Particularly, be aware of pickpockets and thieves. Keep your shoulder bag close to you, preferably around your neck, and always have your eyes on it. Never put your bag down without some form of personal restraint. Pay especially close attention if you find yourself in a crowd, where thieves will try to take advantage of the surroundings.

Also, beware of scammers. There are people in the area who will try and convince you to lend them money or sell off poor quality items to you.

The Environment

At an altitude of 5,700 feet above sea level, the weather here can grow incredibly cold at night. While this weather make Genting a favorite destination for people on holiday, you’ll want to bring some warm clothes and gear with you. Also, because Genting Highlands is on top of a mountain, fog is a problem, particularly for outdoor activities. In fact, it is foggy most of the time at Genting Highlands. This leads to poor visibility, which can make it hard to see on-coming vehicles. The fog, in combination with the twisting roads, makes travelling at the top a tad tricky at times.
