Tips on Bremen Warnings and Dangers – Stay Safe!

Bremen Warnings and Dangers

Home to the Gothic town hall,  the Roland Statue and St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bremen, Germany, provides you with numerous things to do during your holiday. However, you need to pay attention to a few warnings and dangers.

Beware of the Shady Viertel Neighborhood

In Das Viertel (The Viertel), you can find secondhand goods on every street corner. At these shops, it is easy to discover many items for great prices. However, you will also notice numerous prostitutes, drug addicts and punks. The Viertel transforms itself into a red-light district at night, which means that the area has even more street prostitutes begging for a chance to make extra cash. By the way, prostitution is against the law in Bremen.

Tram Tracks and Old Trams Pose Potentially Dangerous Situations

Beware of Trams in the Obernstrasse shopping area. Trams are located close to the walkways. Even though the trams do not operate at high speeds, you really need to look for them because one wrong step could get you killed. Also, pay close attention to the tram tracks located at the station square. The tracks are combined with walkways.

Avoid walking behind the old trams in the dark. Strange people with abnormal social behavioral patterns go on the tram at night. If you do not like the idea of mingling with undesirable locals, stay away from the trams.

Do Not Visit the Bremen Suburbs

Unattractive and uninviting, the Bremen suburbs consists of dangerous neighborhoods. Many poor people live in the projects. Furthermore, Bremen is known for having a serious child poverty problem. Unfortunately, poverty often leads to criminal activity due to insufficient funds.
