Phuket Tourist Traps
Phuket is a province in Thailand that consist of 32 small islands and one central island. Visitors to the region should be aware of tourist traps that are in the area.
Shopping and Nightlife
Shops in Phuket can be very pricey. Street vendors charge a high amount for their merchandise, and the only way to get a sensible price is by haggling. It’s also best to compare stores to find out who is selling the same merchandise at the best price. Depending on where you are will determine what prices you’ll find, as areas outside of Phuket town typically have higher prices. Also, be wary of the merchandise you buy. There are stores claiming to sell high quality goods for incredible amounts. These items either turn out to be underpriced or of inferior quality.
Excursions and Agencies
There are many tour groups and agencies across Phuket, but you’ll want to compare prices and check reviews of these companies before purchasing any packages. Several of the companies in the area will charge a significant amount to take you across the country. Unfortunately, some of these same companies will cut corners by serving poor meals, serving few drinks, or generally providing poor customer services.
These agencies sell different trips and include everything from boat trips of the surrounding islands to trips into the heart of the jungle.
