Nordkapp Tourists Traps
Nordkapp is a town on the northern coast of Norway. The name translates to “North Cape” in English. It is a major tourists destination in the city that draws in over 200,000 visitors each year. Most of them come during the months of summer. If you are planning on visiting Nordkapp, you should be aware of these tourists traps before you go.
Overpriced Good and Services
Like many other areas geared towards tourism, the area can be quite expensive. Locals that drive in for day trips have commented that the tunnel to get to the city is very expensive. They also charge you for the underwater tunnel that takes you back to Norway. It is important to know that you will spend money to get in and out of Nordkapp while you are there.
No Avoiding the Visitors’ Center
When you go to the North Cape, there is no avoiding going through the visitor’s center, which is basically like a mini-museum of sorts about the area. You will have to go through the gift shop where they will attempt to sell you a swathe of souvenirs. There is a charge to go through the museum too.
Try to Get Discounts
If you are a student, a senior citizen, or some other individual that may be eligible for a discount, you should try to do so. This is because the toll to get to the cape can be quite expensive. Any reduction in cost you can get will be very beneficial. Some people choose to park their cars outside of the toll area and walk into the town to avoid paying to get in.
