  • Tipping at the all-inclusive resorts is encouraged, although staff will never ask for a tip. Instead, a server or maid may say to you, "Tomorrow is my day off," which means that if you're going to tip them, then it's a good idea to do it before their day off. They typically work six days a week for low wages and rely on the tips. Most of the staff are not locals but come from other areas of Mexico or other countries.
