Our Third Visit to the Atlantis, Paradise Island

Author: Irene Such
Date of Trip: November 2010

Well, it seems that everyone who travels here has their own opinion. Expensive, rude staff, etc. I can only report on my trip, and this one was as wonderful as the first time. Checking in a few days before Thanksgiving is very easy. The staff is very capable and friendly. There is a very relaxed feel to the resort. It doesn’t get crowded until closer to the actual holiday. They hold a Thanksgiving carnival which is a very popular family activity.

Yes, you may think that the food is expensive, until you get your plate and see how much is on it. The food is always delicious. Fresh ingredients, prepared just right, and plentiful. The value is on target. Cocktails, also delicious.

The first thing we do is check out the marina. Always a treat to check out the yachts, wander into the market, and stop for ice cream. We usually wander across the street and go to the liquor store and pick up some adult beverages.

Then it’s time to go to the water park, hop on a tube and begin our ride on the current. Always fun.

Remember, this is not a cheap resort. It costs lots of money to maintain the grounds and aquariums with all the sea life. You will get your moneys worth.

Our family consists of two parents, and sons, ages 11 and 17. Can’t wait to go back next year.
