Picnic Point

Ju Raku en Japanese Gardens

If you like visiting Japanese Gardens, then you definitely will want to head on over to Ju Raku en Japanese Gardens. Opened in 1989, these gardens feature many paths for strolling through a Japanese landscape that is overloaded with Azalea bushes. More than 2,500 of these bushes can be found on the northern face of Azalea Hill.  The Central Lake of the gardens represents a celestial sea.

Toowoomba Art Gallery

The Toowoomba Art Gallery Park came about as a result of landscape architects teaming up with an artist and ironworker who’d begun working with unemployed aboriginal men. The men were taught ironmongery and made a series of totems that represented their dreams and visions. The results are on display at this unique gallery.

Cobb+Co Museum

The Cobb+Co Museum, located in Toowoomba, focuses on horse-drawn vehicles, and is the home of Australia’s National Carriage Collection. It opened in 1987 and has become a major draw to Toowoomba.

Ravensbourne National Park

This is a small yet very scenic national park on Australia’s Great Dividing Range. It overlooks the Lockyer Valley. Some remnants rainforest and wet eucalyptus trees remain in Ravensbourne.
