South Haven is a city in Michigan that sits at the mouth of the Black River, along Lake Michigan. It has a long history as a port town and boasts a number of things to do for visitors to the area.

One of the things to do in South Haven is visit the Michigan Maritime Museum. The museum highlights the heritage of the Great Lakes. Also at the museum is a boathouse, the Lightkeepers House, and the Great Lakes Research Library. Located on the South Haven Pier is a lighthouse that dates back to the 19^th century. The lighthouse, now a part of the Michigan Maritime Museum, is open for public tours during Harborfest, which is held each June over Father’s Day weekend. If you’re looking to get onto the waters themselves, you can even go on the motorized launch boat, the Lindy Lou, for a cruise on the Black River.
