Just like all of the Utah parks, Snow Canyon State Park offers visitors an exceptional blend of scenic beauty and interesting trails to explore.

Hike

Sand Dunes Trail – Hundreds of reptile and small animal tracks crisscross the dunes. This easy, one-half-mile walk, with deep sand and some small hills, look exactly how the park flyer describes them, like a “giant’s sandbox.”

Pioneer Names Trail – This is an easy, one-half-mile trail. The park claims it passes pioneer names written in axle grease, dating back to 1881. The names are high up on the wall and easier seen from the park road.

The Butterfly Trail – This beautiful trail winds along the Petrified Dunes and leads to the West Canyon Overlook and lava tubes.

Johnson Trail – This trail winds through ancient lava flows and red sandstone rocks to a sheltered canyon, which contains willow and cottonwood trees, and ends at an arch that spans 200 feet.

White Rocks Amphitheatre – While most of the park is composed of red Entrada sandstone, white Navajo sandstone forms a small natural amphitheater at the north end of the park.

Jenny’s Canyon – This canyon, named after a local woman who loved this spot, is also a prime desert tortoise habitat.

Gondola – Take the gondola to the top of the mountain for some amazing views, especially when there’s snow on the ground.

Snow Canyon Drive – This two-lane road winds through the park and provides visitors with incredible views.
