Rayong, a fishing town located on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, offers a wide range of entertaining diversions and things for visitors to do.
In Rayong, you can spend time picking and tasting various kinds of fresh tropical fruits, including delicious treats such as durian, mango, dragon fruit, and more. You can pick their own fruit and sample them in the wild or visit the fruit farm, SuanSupatra, where you can pick and eat as you want. If you’re looking for more diversity in your dining options, then head to the local food market, where you’ll find a wide variety of seafood.
Ban Phe Beach provides a wonderful view of the coast, plus a long road that works its way down the shores with plenty of restaurants to stop at along the way. Visitors hoping to enjoy the coastline can also visit SuanWungKaew. This place is a big park with a wonderful landscape, rolling hills, and a beach where you can spend the day. The vendors at the beach provide a nice bungalow with excellent views of the sea. In the past, SuanWungKaew was a very famous place to visit, though it has quieted down in recent years.
While in Rayong, feel free to go snorkeling along one of the many uninhabited islands that dot the horizon. Visitors can take a speed boat toward these islands, do some snorkeling, go beachcombing along the deserted beaches, and return by sunset. The time it takes to travel from the Novotel beach to Vongdeuan beach at Samet varies depending on what you want your boat ride to include. You can take a one- or two engine-boat, or make a stop-over on the archipelago in between the beaches. This will tack on extra time to your trip, and will run you between $30 and $60 for a roundtrip.
