Mont-Tremblant Things to Do
Mont-Tremblant is one of the tallest peaks in the Laurentian Mountains, so it has become a huge destination for skiers Canada. Its location in Quebec makes it an especially popular destination for residents of Montreal. There is more to do at Mont-Tremblant than just ski, though.
Summer Canoeing
The area is just as popular in the summer as it is in the winter. One popular thing that people like to do in the summer is take a canoe trip. There are different bodies of water where you can canoe, including Lake Moore and Lake Mercier. There is also the Diable River in Mont-Tremblant National Park. The river is almost 100 kilometers long and about 25 percent of that flows through the national park.
Mont-Tremblant National Park
The national park is a major destination in the summer. There is a ton of great stuff to do for the entire family. Two of these popular activities are biking and hiking. There are countless trails for both activity throughout the park that range in difficulty. The biking trails wind through the park and the nearby town. Because the trails are in a mountain range, there may be some steep climbs, so be aware of that before you go. Fishing is also a popular activity in the park.
Luging
Some areas at the base of the mountain have luge tracks that are safe for all ages. They sleds are a simple design that are easy to control. They can get up to pretty high speeds in different parts of the track, so it is a good idea to wear some protective gear.
Relax at the Spa
Two former Montreal Canadiens own the Spa Scandinave in this area. The spa is uniquely Nordic and is one of the only of its type in the province. The spa has many of the amenities that are found in Scandinavian countries like Norway and Finland. This includes the famous Finnish sauna. The spa is not an overnight experience, but there are hotels nearby where you can stay after your visit.
Ice Climbing
One popular winter activity besides skiing is ice climbing. You can book trips for this at the Mont-Tremblant Complex, which must be reserved ahead of time.
