If you prefer activity over shopping, there are several places to hike and experience the beauty of Malibu. Escondido Falls is a short mile and a half hike near Pepperdine University. Half of the path is on pavement, so you can walk the trails in sneakers. Other nature hotspots include Legacy Park and Solstice Canyon.
