Lauterbrunnen Things to Do
Lauterbrunnen is a picturesque village in Switzerland with a very small population but lovely views of the countryside. Visitors can find a few things to do when visiting the region.
The 261-meter-high Aegertenbach Falls are situated between Staubbach Falls and Murrenbach Falls, and right across from Trummelbach Falls. The water flow is light, but still majestic. It’s almost impossible to get close to them, but you can still get a clear view of them from various mountain vantage points. The Staubbach Falls, meanwhile, descend close to the town. You can easily get close to them, since they fall along the trailhead just outside of Lauterbrunnen.
Trummelbach Falls are a must-see for visitors to the region. Tickets to the falls can be bought at the same place as souvenirs. From there, visitors can continue up the pathway. This area is filled by meadows of flowers that lead up to the lift, which will take you to the caves that sit high above ground. From there, you can enjoy the tunnels, caves and waterfalls.
Aareschucht is a gorge in the area that can be easily reached by a short drive. The walk through the Gorge is along a well kept track of wood decking that twists alongside the nearby falls. Asphalt paths help you you’re your balance inside the tunnels.
