A must see place in Kushalnagar is the inner shrine at the Namdroling monastery. This Tibetan temple will overwhelm your senses with the scale of the building and statues, the colors that surround the space, and the temple music that fills the shrine. There are three remarkable statues in the shrine that are made of solid copper and covered with gold plate. The largest of the statues is a 60 foot tall statue of Lord Buddha. The other two statues are both 58 feet tall. One statue depicts Guru Padmasambhava and the other is of Buddha Amitayus.
Visitors are able to relax by the Kaveri river banks. Depending on the season, the river may be higher or lower and can really change the feel and landscape of the surrounding area. Spend a few hours relaxing on the picturesque shores and take in the scenery. This is a great place to dip your toes in the water and escape the summer heat.
