The Beach
The over 25 kilometers of white, sand of Desaru Beach is something every visitor must see. Whether you are interested in fishing, boating, swimming, or just spreading out under the casuarina trees, you can do it here.
Explore Nature
The Kota Tinggi Waterfall cascades 34 meters down the slopes of Gunung Muntahak, forming three perfect swimming holes along the way. Spend an afternoon relaxing by the pools, enjoying the postcard-like scenery while dining at the Waterfall View Restaurant, or experiencing a magical night in one of the local hotels. The waterfall area is open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. There is a small fee to access the area.
Take a night river cruise to view the natural firework show of lightning bugs. The tour will pick you up at your hotel, and take you directly to a river boat for a short cruise to see hundreds of fireflies. It is a fantastic experience for those who have never seen fireflies before.
Popular hiking spots include the Gunung Panti and the Gunung Muntahak hills. Gunung Panti hills are close to town, and a perfect hike for novices. The Gunung Muntahap hill is the source of the Kota Tinggi Waterfall, and offers a hiking option with a mild ascent, but a narrow path.
