Ennis is a charming town to explore on foot, with numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and landmarks to explore.

Be prepared to be blown away by the magnificent architecture of Dromoland Castle, a fairly new construction (as castles go) in Ireland with unbelievable gardens. Take time for a coffee at the on-site cafe.

The Clare museum has various items on display from the County Clare region. They have a very interesting collection of stone age axes, you will also find an interesting exhibit about J P Holland the inventor of the submarine. Admission is free.

Walking through Ennis, you will get to O'Connell square with the monument to Irish nationalist hero Daniel O'Connell which stands atop a tall column, the site of the old courthouse where he won the Clare by-elections in 1828. You will see this monument from quite a distance.

Ennis is a great town to do a pub crawl in. There are numerous pubs in the town center. Try Ciarans Bar, for one. The interesting sign on the outside depicts a "strong" pint of Guinness beating the weaker lager pints in a hurling contest.

The Cliffs of Moher are about 30 miles northwest of Ennis. This scenic attraction is a must see site in Ireland.

St. Columba's Anglican church is located in Bindon Street. This beautiful church is worth a look when in Ennis.
